Richard Fields is a businessman who specializes in casinos, resort development, casino gaming facilities, and thoroughbred horse racing. Richard Fields is Chairman of Coastal Development, which finances and develops resort properties, entertainment venues, and casino gaming facilities. Through Coastal Development, Richard Fields co-developed the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel, with locations in Tampa and Hollywood. The casino resorts are among the most successful in North America.
As a result of his success in business, Richard Fields is able to give back to the community through his philanthropic organization the Fields Family Foundation. The Fields Family Foundation contributes to such organizations as Good Shepherd Services, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the American Quarter Horse Foundation, and the University of Rochester Medical Center for the fight against muscular dystrophy.
Richard Fields is also the largest shareholder of Suffolk Downs, a thoroughbred racetrack in Massachusetts and the owner of Jackson Ranch Land of Cattle. Richard Fields became the largest shareholder of Suffolk Downs, a thoroughbred racing track in 2007, which he hopes to expand into a casino resort and entertainment destination pending gambling laws in Massachusetts. In his leisure time, Richard Fields is a horse lover, rider, and horse sports enthusiast. As the owner of Jackson Land and Cattle in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Richard Fields participates in the western style horse event called cutting, a timed horse competition where horse and rider work together to separate one cow away from the rest of the herd.
